Has anyone seen this yet? I believe it is real. Shark attacks and mauls a Russian man. All caught on people's phones.

Trying to figure out how to post twitter videos.

I saw it. It's disturbing to see, but frightening to see the power of what most are saying is a Tiger shark.

It was posted yesterday on General and staff nuked it. May God have mercy on his soul because that was awful and I wish I hadn't watched it.

Well I won't post the video then.

They caught the shark apparently though.

The one I watched was super creepy, because the music in the background was like Disney theme park music. That and it was a minute long of the guy trying to survive, sucky.

It's not gory but is disturbing.

I wouldn't recommend watching it.

It almost seemed like a clip from the jaws movie with the music etc. It is disturbing.

I have never understood how someone can see a person in distress, or a bad situation coming, whip out their phone, and watch it all unfold through a camera screen while doing absolutely nothing to help. Not even trying to find a way, yell for help, call someone, find something to throw… just record someone's death and put it online. That's disturbing.

It seems like normally once a shark bites a human they don't keep attacking. That shark kept coming back for more. Seems like most attacks on humans are just a bite or two but not even close in this case

A boat eventually shows up. I am not sure if the people filming are on a dock or something.

Found it. Wow, that was crazy. Shark destroyed him. Why would anyone swim in that ugly murky water like that? I won't go waist deep in Galveston.

I read in one article where they said this shark had attacked someone else previously, but it didn't say how they knew that. That Tiger shark left no doubt for sure.

They said they caught and killed the shark since they thought it attacked other humans before. Decent sized tiger shark.

Yeah I had a small bull shark brush up against me in Galveston, I have not issues swimming in murky lakes but hate swimming in murky salt water. I do not feel like I am close to the top of the food chain

I understand your sentiment, but there is literally nothing anyone can do in this situation from shore. There is a boat that comes in to help, but they are seconds too late.

You see some blood, but it is very unsettling. The guys dad and girlfriend were watching from shore and the guy yells out "Papa" a couple of times. The way he just floats before the final pulldown knowing it is over is haunting.

Easy to say he's an idiot but damn.. Brutal, helpless, death in front of your family who can do nothing. Terrible ordeal.

Yeah, I hate it when people video in portrait instead of landscape mode.

Best way to not get killed by a shark is to stay out of the ocean......man immediately goes from being at the top of the food chain to somewhere closer to bottom.

Murky water and not very far from shore, 50-100m. Hard to tell from the video I saw

My opinion, the species and water conditions contributed to this being a feed versus an exploratory bite like you're describing. Also, if this shark had attacked humans previously as is being speculated, that could contribute, too. Sad situation. There was an attack some years ago by a white shark off the coast of southern California and the victim was consumed in that case, too. Don't know of any others in recent history where the victim was mostly or entirely eaten.

I hear that. And I understand that sometimes you can't do anything to help someone. But you don't have to keep filming someone's gruesome death, and you certainly don't have to then post it online (or leak it in any way) once you see what you have. That is really the part that irks me.

*To be fair, I haven't seen this video, nor do I plan to. So perhaps I shouldn't judge. It's just crazy to me stuff like this gets recorded and posted. Maybe I'm trying to make more of a general statement.*

The victim is Russian. Not a lot of beach options for the Russians right now.

I have a pretty strong stomach for stuff like this, but this one is difficult to watch. Victim seems to be teenaged or maybe early twenties and cries out for his dad (papa) multiple times, but his dad was helpless.

Yeah, not watching that.

I guess I saw a shortened and/or edited version. Saw several different videos. Didn't show a whole lot. But also wasn't morbid enough to dig deeper to find a "better" video.

About to hop on a flight to Cairo. Won't be near the water though.

There was a swimmer eaten at Little Bay in Sydney Australia by a white shark in 2022. There's video of it too that is more gruesome than this one and the swimmer was fully consumed in multiple passes by the shark.

I believe the entire video is posted to the rant OT board. At one point this poor fellow was turned completely upside down with only his legs visible. Tragic situation and horrible for a helpless family to witness.

Tigers are bad mofos. I would rather face a great white.

Watched it thinking it was a hoax, wish I hadn't. I'm just glad that the sound was off. Sad stuff. I can imagine how helpless that would have felt for both the victim and onlookers
