Got a 36 inch griddle on the way. What are your tips, tricks and go to recipes for the outdoor griddle? Looking forward to using this thing when it comes in.
I cook on ours almost exclusively when we're camping. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Get several large spatulas. They work well for moving things around and keeping eggs where you want them.
I cook a pound of bacon first every trip. Not too hot. Let the fat cook in.
My #1 tip: Clean it when you're finished. Don't wait until later or tomorrow. Get a good metal scraper.
Love mine. I actually downsized from the 36 to the 24 camping black stone. Made burgers yesterday. You can make a heck of a breakfast on those. My biggest fault is not using it enough which occasionally allows it to rust a little.
Don't use too much oil when seasoning. It doesn't take much, and overdoing it will create thick spots where the seasoning doesn't hold. Much better to do several very fine coats
