Would rather have the birds than the cat.

OK with throwing the cat into traffic to prevent future bird deaths.

Don't know about the giggles. Being a rancher a stray feral cat in our pastures is the worst. They kill for the hell of it. Hell on quail and birds.

Neighborhood cats are a menace. Keep your pet on your property.

Yeah, people don't seem to get it but feral cats or even just house cats owned by dumbasses who let their cats outside to roam because "Fluffy likes to play outside" don't have any clue of how destructive they are on birds and other wildlife.

I keep going back and forth on our outdoor cats. We have a couple between the garage and shop. we live on a few acres in the middle of nowhere so they dont bother anybody else and definitely keep the mice out. Unfortunately they have recently started messing with song birds which is a new behavior. Pretty irritating, but then again so was having all of my stuff covered in rodent urine/feces.

Most recently I found a pile of red cardinal feathers in my home gym in the garage

Outdoor cats need a collar with a bell on it so they can't sneak up on birds as easily.

Well, they certainly aren't going to be able to eat Sparrows with that damn cat running around.

Somehow I don't think this got the response the OP thought it would get.......cat's are the debil's spawn.....

Not all cats are the devil's spawn. My cat is an adorable sweetheart. She started off as a stray neighborhood cat, but we domesticated her and moved her inside.

Cats cuddle like that in order to size up your soul. Once it has slowly drained enough of it, it will consume the entire thing one night while you sleep.

Is that the same cat as in the OP?

Gotta throw it in traffic now.

I can guarantee if you let them outside, they aren't staying on your land.

I see so many random cats roaming at night in my pastures and at my house on camera. I'm on a few acres too so they're coming from my neighbors. If they keep the rodents out of my cars, I'm ok with them, but would rather not having them roaming killing birds/amphibians for fun

She's been inside since December, except for one time she bolted outside to chase a new stray that came around. She must have done her black cat magic/hex on it, because it got hit by a car a couple days later.

I guarantee you my two outdoor cats stay on my land. Granted I'm on more than a few acres.

Also I reward my cats for killing the true devil's spawn, the Chimney swift

I own a ranch and have barn cats. We take the cats from the shelter that aren't adoptable or are semi-feral. I'm a dog guy (we have 3) but our barn cats are awesome. The only thing that keeps the mice, pack rats and ground squirrels/ prairie dogs in check. Their kill piles are impressive and watching them toy with prey does make you shake your head sometimes but they are working animals and are super efficient killers.

Nextdoor poster doesn't seem to know the difference between to and too. I guarantee they'd kill a rat snake, post it on ND & say that "poisonous" snake won't be biting their grandkids.

Downloaded Nextdoor based on OB comments & it does indeed provide a plethora of comedy.

I've mostly seen bird on bird violence in my neighborhood. Had a hawk de-feathering another bird in my backyard. Just this weekend a large crow grabbed a baby bird with mom in hot pursuit while I was standing outside.

This.
All our barn cats on the ranch have collars and bells. They never travel far from the barns and wife locks them up in the barns at night and when she thinks it's to bad weather.
They have damn fresh water running fountain and food. But they do keep the barns rat and mouse and snake free.
If they come up to our bird feeders at the house they know they either get a BB or paint ball. .
They don't spend much time up by the house

I live in a small town outside of B/CS. We used to be overrun with feral cats. I trapped and "relocated" the ones that were spraying/peeing on my vehicles and house. Things got a lot better when someone bought and tore down an abandoned house next door, but we still have a few ferals in the neighborhood. I don't mind the ones left, though. They keep to themselves and keep the place clean of other undesirables. My buddy four blocks away is covered up in scorpions and copperheads. I've never seen a scorpion here and have only seen two snakes in the 4 years I've lived here (coral and rat)
