We're considering getting our patio extended with an additional slab. Thinking about 10ft x 20ft, reinforced concrete. We got a quote today for $1,800 if it's bagged concrete mixed on-site and $2,500 if it's delivered via truck. That sound about right? Have no clue how much it should be other than a general internet search, which seems to be a bit all over.

Interesting. Where are you located? I'd be curious how you found them, whether someone else did all the work or that was just cost for the concrete, etc.

I misled you. Paid $2680. $980 for the concrete and $1700 for the contractor.

Why does that sound extremely low? We've been looking into getting a slab poured and it's been the expectation it would be way more than that.

Because you're conditioned to inflation. Also cracks me up that every contractor or even sub feels like they all need to be making well into the six figures for manual labor. When they roll up in a pristine $70k truck with $10k worth of upgrades you know there's an issue. Can't really blame them though, there are enough people out there willing to pay them for half assed work.

Obviously all aren't this way, but it's becoming harder to find honest, skilled contractors.

And no, I haven't been burned by one. I tend to do all work myself or with family because I hate paying inflated prices for inferior work.

20 x 20 concrete patio was 2800 three years ago. That was for everything.

Stop by any job site and go speak to a concrete crew and oversee the work yourself.
