I was just awarded a tax stamp for a Rugged Mustang suppressor for .22 and need a good pistol and rifle. What you got? Under a grand would be nice.

Then grab a threaded Ruger Mk4 on the pistol front. Mk4s break down easier than the old guns which will be nice after shooting suppressed (dirty as hell).

If you want to break budget on the pistol front, the Volquartsen Black Mambas are amazing.

10/22 or M&P-22 for the rifle.

1911-22 for the pistol. Or a Mk. IV or SR-22.

Or split the difference and go the Charger route and SBR it.

Hard to go wrong with a 10/22 for semi auto, Savage FVSR or CZ variant for bolt

Just picked up a Tikka T1X with 16in barrel to host my Rugged Oculus.

My top choices were CZ-457 or Tikka T1X

Tikka won for a few reasons:

Reviews showed it favored more ammo than CZ
Aftermarket parts are more readily available for Tikka
It could be had in 16" Barrel


Champions in CSTAT had the best deal on them I could find.

Tikka, Bergara or CZ.
I bought the Bergara action and added KRG Bravo stock. Bergara was the only lefty I could find. Love it. Its in a Remington 700 footprint, so after market parts selection is endless.

For the pistol: Ruger MK


For the rifle: M&P, 10/22 or bolt gun of your choosing.
Just don't get an SBX barrel for the 10/22- the flash hider is too tight for the Mustang

I would go the Ruger Mark IV route as several have said on the pistol side. I saw someone recommend the 1911-22, but I would stay away from those. I have the Sig version and have nothing but trouble with it.

10/22 Takedown (tactical with the threaded barell) and a S&W M&P 22 Compact with threaded barell.

Bonus is use the GemTech Subsonic Ammo... it cycles both my pistol and rifle suppressed.

Well, it used to.............

Suppressors do matter.

Sometimes you shoot, but the casing does not eject when using a suppressor so have to rack it for every shot.

CCI subsonic is the only brand I've used with a dead air mask suppressor. Like dubi said, it won't eject it. Interesting thought on changing out the spring. Hadn't thought of that.
