We have one of those Chinese knock offs four wheeler. I think it's a125cc. We couldn't get it to start. Had some ether in the garage so took air filter off and sprayed some into there. It would start for just a couple seconds until it burned that ether off (I am assuming?). I pulled fuel line off carburetor and gas drips out so seems like it's getting fuel. Any ideas on what's wrong? Acting I could fix using YouTube videos?

Your carb needs to be cleaned.

If gas just drips out, you aren't getting enough. Check where it comes from the tank, at the fuel shut off valve if it has one, for rust. If found, yes, you probably will need to clean the carb.

Probably hasnt been run enough to prevent gumming up the carb thanks to ethanol. As said above clean carb which will likely require breaking it down.

Then start using E free fuel or if low elevation high octane and run it regularly.

Try putting fresh gas in. If it hasn't been run in a while. This is almost always the fix for our lawn mowers

If it starts on ether, I would clean the jets and replace the fuel filter.
Make sure you clean the PILOT JET so it starts and idle easy.
Very easy to do, lots of how to videos on YouTube.

Get a can of Carburetor cleaner. Remove and clean all the jets.
Clean the carb float needle.
I lay out paper shop towels on my bench and disassemble and clean on then to keep from introducing more debris into the carb.
Sometimes you have to soak the pieces for an hour in a container with carb cleaner to soften up the gunk.

On the last carb I cleaned, I had to use a piece of copper wire strand from a multi-strand wire to get something to push the junk out of the little pilot jet. It wouldn't blow out with carb cleaner or air.

On a 2003 Yamaha ATV, it had a fuel selector valve for OFF-RESERVE-MAIN. That valve actually gunked up and had to be cleaned.

Once you do one, its a no-brainer on all small engine carburetors.

Does it have a fuel pump?

If fuel comes through the line still its almost guaranteed to be the carb. 30m operation to remove and disassemble for most small engines. Little carb cleaner dousing (not on your o-rings or seals) and reassemble. Some new fuel and should run perfect.

Ps. Youtube is your friend for how to get your particular carb off and disassembled.

I made the mistake of buying a couple of these pieces of junk a few years ago. Those carbs last about a year. If they set up for more than a month they are gone. You can order kits to rebuild for about $10 or a whole new carb for $20 or less. Just order a new carb from Amazon.

Fuel filter. This was my problem at least

What do you y'all do when the wheels get out of alignment on those Chinese go karts? Ours are sticking way out, makes it hard to steer.

Adjust the linkage

Take the bowl off the carb.

On the bottom of the carb there is a tiny hole.

Get a fine piece of wire and ream that thing out.

Should run fine after

Buy a new carb off of Amazon for $13 and replace the whole thing. Much easier than cleaning them from my experience, but I'm also lazy.
