12-15 inches here overnight. 6 hours currently from Denver to here. Down south looks like a total **** show.
If it was me, I wouldn't even try to make it in from the south or east until this storm passes. Id find the closest town to the dry line and park it. Last thing you want is getting caught on a pass. Supposed to keep snowing through tomorrow at noon between the state line and Purg/Telly. Otherwise it should mostly pull through sometimes later today and begin to clear.
Just to put things into perspective, I'd love to go skiing today at Snowmass but I don't know if I'll be able to get there on 82 and it's only 34 miles from the house.
Roads are a total **** show. Please be careful driving today.
Update: I-70 is completely closed eastbound in several places and is down to one lane in several other places between the high country and Denver going westbound. It'll probs close here too once more people try to head this way.
550 is completely snow covered and wind blown from Ridgway to Silverton. Please monitor cotrip before making the move and DO NOT USE GPS TO REROUTE YOU - know the main route and ancillary routes before you leave! You will not have cell service in the high country when going through the worst passes and if you do and your phone GPS moves you onto an unplowed or closed up ahead CR, you're toast.
