Thought it was really cool and maybe y'all would be interested to see it.

I wonder where it is and how much the bank wants for it...

That is weird. How has someone not bought, fixed up and sold it?

first thing i thought of when reading the title was season 3 of "True Detective". after seeing it, think that was the mansion they filmed at.

The bigger/more expensive houses get, the smaller the potential market is, and the pickier those buyers get.

If you had mansion money and it would take 5 mil to fix this place up would you want to be stuck with a design, floor plan and location someone else picked, or would you want to spend that money to build exactly what you wanted?

This.

Folks with that kind of money aren't looking on HAR for a house, they are building what they want exactly how they want.

Something like this has a really, really small market. Depending on location, may be better as a Bed & Breakfast or some sort of event center/wedding venue.

I have a route I fly from East Tx to the coast fairly routinely, I change up the path 10-20 miles east or west of centerline to break up the monotony. There's a surprising amount of properties like this on that 150 mile stretch, many of them incomplete. I'd love to know the story behind each of them.

Rich people want things exactly how they want them. Not many are looking to take over for someone else's mess.

Plus the bank is going to want a chunk of change just to acquire it. Video said the mortgage was $50k/month and the principle was $8MM.

Nobody knows more about the doctor and son who died or the location of this property?

Has nobody ever read the Richard Matheson book Hell House or seen the movie The Legend of Hell House?

That's why.

The property linked below is close to my mom's farm. It looks like a wannabe Bass Pro Shop. The guy was a pretty well off contractor and married a very wealthy lawyer. He then proceeded to spend their money like Monopoly money. She got tired of it and divorced him.

So now the place has never been lived in, needs maybe a million more to finish, and sits 10 miles outside of Plainview, Texas. Not exactly a place with a big market for $3 million dollar houses that look like barns.

I have no idea what will become of it
