You guys know central Texas. And, you guys know good eats. Valentine's day is Tuesday and my wife's birthday is Wednesday. I have to work all weekend and only have Monday and Tuesday off. Looking for a nice day trip for lunch on Tuesday. Live in Richmond, would like to limit drive time to 1-2 hours.

We actually like Galvez town. But, driving through hickville (Hitchock and Santa Fe) is somewhat depressing. However, a drive to Surfside could be a possibility. We like the Seahorse Bar and Grill

Brazos Bend State Park. Probably too cold for gators though.

Downtown Brenham. And Bluebell is open during the week. $1 ice cream!

1-2 won't get you to the hill country. I second the Galveston suggestion, a lot of great resturants, bars, and history to enjoy there on a day trip.

If you are against the coast, Round Top should be 1.5-2 hours away and she may enjoy seeing the shops and town square area.

Round top is good. Several good newer fancy places.

Pier 6 in San Leon is great if u wanna go that way

He said he's going Monday or Tuesday. Not much in round top open that early in the week. At least check before that being the decision.

we used to go to Murphy's a lot. Maybe it's gotten better, but we stopped going about a year or two ago because the food was flat out bad.

Ropers in Simonton is an easy drive. Good burger and the perfect t valentine spot.
