How long do you want to ignore this user?
Trying to troubleshoot a battery or more likely a charging issue with my XP50. Anyone else that has a Pulsar have issues with the charging cable and adapter? That is going to be the first thing I try but I wanted to buy the exact Pulsar cable and charger but hard to find one in stock.

I have one. One of the things I noticed was that the charger cable barely fits into the socket on the scope, and I never feel like it's making a good connection since it barely fits into the socket before making a hard stop, and there are no indicator lights confirming it's receiving charge, unlike the external twin battery charge adapter. It does t have that reassuring "click" that gives you confidence you're making a good cable connection with the port on the scope. I wish they had selected a different charge interface.

I've never had any trouble charging mine though. I'll be interested in what you find out.

Contact Jason at Outdoor Legacy Gear in Nacogdoches, TX. He probably sells more Pulsar thermals than anyone, is a super nice guy, and is more knowledgeable about Pulsar than most anyone else.

The charging cable that came with mine is a sloppy fit into the scope and the battery charger itself. It works, but I'm always suspect of it.

Talking to Jason at Outdoor Legacy some time ago, he said any cable (/with the proper USB connections) would work. Doesn't have to be the cable supplied by Pulsar.

With the charger plugged in to the scope, you can turn it on and see if it's shows to be charging on the screen. Just did this last night.

Like the others have said, any USB cable with correct end and adapter will work. I've had to shave the plastic on some aftermarket cables to get the connectornto seat fully. Doesnt have to be from Pulsar. If a different cable doesnt get it going, contact Sellmark In Mansfield, TX and open a service claim.

If the dealer you bought from is reputable, have them open the service claim for you.

Appreciate all the advice. Got it as a gift from wife Dec '20 from opticsplanet so don't expect much help from them. I'll try another charger and see how that works out:

yeah, not likely to get any support from them... Sellmark is the US distributor. They are pretty good about taking care of people. Let me know if you open a service case with them and need help keeping it moving. I'll have my rep chase it.

Changed out the adapter and set up charging in a location that no one could touch and it's almost fully charged. That connection into the main is so finicky that the cord has to be untouched once you get it "charging" . Makes me feel better bc I didn't want to be without it at all…didn't want to give the pigs a break. Lol
