That was the general consensus but the "scraping" end is only about 1" wide. Seems like it would take awhile. Thought maybe we were missing something.

Yep, grill grate lifter. And the smaller pointy end is for scraping between the wires on the grill grate- not for cleaning the whole surface.

Guy above me got it. You insert the top end at a slight angle so it fits between the grill bars at the narrow bit, then turn it parallel to the grill and Lift, and you can use it to reposition a hot or dirty grill panel.

Some of them are just bent and not straight. That's how God made them. As long as they are still hard, they will work for the intended purpose.
