I have a buddy thinking about buying a new bumper pull trailer.

What brand is the best?

I hear Galyean is the go to for gooseneck trailers these days, but who makes the best 16x6 bumper pull?

Anyone selling one soon?

We have a Calico that has been great. Got it at JM in Bryan. Has worked well for hauling our kids 4H steers and heifers all over the state.

Delta makes a great trailer. My brother has a bumper pull, and just got his 24' gooseneck also. Well built trailers, his other trailer is a Titan trailer that both him and my dad seem to like quite a bit also, but it's a gooseneck.

So are you looking for a covered livestock trailer or a flatbed?

If you are shopping for a steel or aluminum covered livestock bumper pull the top brands are WW, Featherlight and Exiss.
You can go up along the I-30 corridor by Sulfur Springs and Mount Pleasant and have your pick of factory direct trailer companies.
D and D farm and ranch in Seguin has a great selection as well.

Sure, the company name is "Gooseneck", but they also build bumper pull livestock trailers...

There are a bunch of nice brands.

W-W, CM, Wilson, Bruton, Gooseneck, Delco, GR, Century for steel trailers.

Aluminum trailers would be Elite, Featherlite, Wilson, Sooner, Exiss, Bruton.

Depends on what part of the world he is in, trailers and their popularity are very regional. Being from Angelo, everyone has a Bruton or Big Bend around here.

Pretty pleased with my 2022 Delco 16' stock trailer. Love the "slam" gate latch system they have on them.

I know there are a ton of different brands, but haven't bought or studied the bumper pull segment.

For example, guys I know put Galyean goosenecks ahead of Gooseneck brand if a person is willing to pay more money up front. I've had one friend mention Big Bend but have no experience with them.

One hauler showed up with a Delco 40' and liked it ok, but said he had axle issues and prefers his Galyean that he bought most recently.

I'm looking for real world experience in the bumper pull segment. If you had to buy one, which one would it be and why?

Easley and Hughes are going to be the best steel trailers out there. Those are what everybody compares other steel trailers to.

Behind those are going to be Big Bend, Reyes and, Gooseneck.

Ranchworldads.com is going to be the best place to look for one .

We had a W-W that we customized to haul African Exotics that held up well for many years.
Had a CM that we used for both cattle and horses.
It has held up really well also.
Both bumper pull on both.
We were happy with the cost vs. need.

This right here. I have 3 Hughes trailers, 1 is bumper pull. They will all outlive me.

Go check resale on Hughes or Easley, that is a pretty solid indicator.

So, I was discussing a land deal with a guy out of Northern Indiana a few months ago who was preparing to drive the 14 hours down Mt. Pleasant to buy a trailer at the factory, it was so much cheaper he was saving money even factoring in diesel.

I couldn't tell you, he told me at the time but since he was buying trailers for roll-off dumpsters it didn't ring a bell.
