Following since I'm interested in the same thing. I have a lead on a place in SD, but don't want to travel that far.

Go north or East. Look in the panhandle (if they even have good numbers) or Arkansas.

Down near the coast is not holding near the birds they used to. Massive change in migratory pattern and most geese seem to stop in Arkansas as the rice production has shifted up there.

No idea where the snows are this year, I'm guessing the warmer weather never pushed them down. I'm around El Campo and havent seen any snows lately just a handful of dark geese and sandhill cranes.

In years past we would be chasing them off the rye grass pastures by now.

It's weird how few geese are along the coast.

Up near Garwood this was the most geese we had seen in 10 years. Was insane all December.

I have some pics but I've given up trying to post pics any more. I didn't take pics of all the snows, just of the geese we shot. But there were tons of snows flying everywhere.

Guided, Tejas Waterfowl. One day of geese and one day of cranes. . It was our 6th year going with them. Already booked our dates for next year.

Goose busters guide service In Arkansas if you get on E season early enough through Feb then I would look at someone north or that if you are looking at March.

Are there still snow geese by the thousands in the Dumas area? One farmer friend of mine by Etter (world renown for his sweet corn) wouldn't let any one hunt his fields for geese because they took care of waste grain and volunteer so well.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Go to Arkansas or Missouri for conservation season for the real deal.

You may already know this, but most snow goose guides are pretty rough around the edges and some even might be part of the Crystal Methodist Church.

Sandhill Flyway in Hutchinson,KS, Main lodge, full service, lodging meals exc

Sandhill Flyway Snows, NW Missouri, hunts only you take care of your own lodging and food.

I have hunted with both operations, and just returned from a Kansas trip. These guys work hard to put you on the birds.

Tell them Capt. Andy sent you, you can find them online, Facebook and Instagram

You can thank Cinco Ranch for that.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I live in Cinco and am very close to where my last goose hunt out here was. The Katy prairie is gone… Cross Creek, Jordan Ranch, Cane Island and more have killed it. No more rice down here and no more flooded ponds.

I haven't heard migrating geese out here in 8-10 years when growing up you'd watch the fly over at night. Pretty sad…

I grew up in Rosenberg. I can remember watching thousands upon thousands fly over, leaving Katy and heading down to Matagorda

Yes, the numbers were up this year but maybe only a third of what they were in the '80s when Eagle Lake named itself the Goose Hunting Capital of the World.

My family has lived and farmed that area for over 120 years. The western sprawl of Houston and the loss of rice fields in that area have definitely led to a decline in the number of birds over the last 2.5 decades. Also, my great-uncle prophesized in the '90s, when combines were becoming more efficient and leaving less stubble after the first harvest, the number of birds would decline due to the lessening of grain left over.

How else are you going to set 500 decoys to kill 3 birds?
TXCAV
How long do you want to ignore this user?
500 decoys? Those are rookie numbers, you're gonna have to pump those up. If you ain't rockin at least 1500 sock and full bodies mixed, don't bother.

I'm not sure about where to hunt them but I'm in Tipton KS at Ringneck pheasant hunting and they are constantly flying over. Not that that is any help to you, but there are plenty in KS.

Larry Robinson with Coastal Wings does conservation season hunts starting in Arkansas and following them north in the spring. Has a lodge in AR. I've only been to his OK lodge, but he has a great outfit, and he's a good Ag to boot.
