I sure love this board. My go-to for outdoor advice, and it's much appreciated.
So, my 20 year wedding anniversary is this June (bless her heart), and my wife has blessed me with a day of Salmon (or other species) fishing. We will be going from June 7 - June 17, which seems to be a touch early for salmon, but maybe still do-able? We are flying into Anchorage and hitting Cooper Landing, Homer, Seward, and Whittier in a loop over those days. A detour would not be out of the question, either.
Just doing google research, looks like King (Chinook) salmon are the most sought and biggest, but limited to one per day on 2022 regs. Are Sockeye the only other species coming in by then? I'd love to hit an area where I could catch my King, then finish out with Sockeye, but I'll admit that I have no idea if it works that way. Should I skip Salmon due to the time of the year, and do Halibut?
Looking for general advice and maybe even some guide recommendations.
Thanks in advance!! I promise to post trip pictures!
