Figured I'd come to the most knowledgeable outdoor board known to man to ask for opinion on Z Grills.

Anyone have? Anyone used? Etc….

Apparently the manufacturer of Traeger and Pit Boss split off to make their own.

My dad has one and I've cooked on it a few times. It's fine for what it is (a budget friendly pellet grill with few bell and whistles). His hasn't had any issues and never had to reach out for customer service stuff, so I can't really comment there, but it's held up well fora a grill that's semi covered by a patio but still mostly exposed to the elements. His is one of their most basic grills, and some of their newer stuff looks dang nice and has pretty decent reviews online and on YouTube.

I will have them on my short list when it comes time to replace my current pellet grill. I almost pulled the trigger on a 600D3E on Black Friday. It was like $300, but I couldn't justify it because my current set up is still working ok…still kinda wish I would have done it… good news: they're ALWAYS running some kind of sale, so if the one you're looking at isn't on sale, wait a couple weeks.

I bought a 550B for my son and nephews who share a house at A&M. They gave it good reports so I bought myself the same one to try it out. I was happy with it, but wanted a bigger hopper so I moved that one down to our condo and bought a 7002C2E. The biggest down side is you can't go look at them in person and compare them side by side, but I think they're as nice as the Traegers and Pit Bosses I've played with in the stores.

I primarily use mine for smoking, but we've done steaks and burgers when visiting my son and was pleasantly surprised at how well it did. Overall, I haven't had any complaints or need to call their customer service. If you're looking for a basic, budget friendly pellet grill I think they fit the bill nicely.

I have had a XL Big Green Egg for about 7 years now and I love that thing so a pellet grill is a big change for me. However, I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old and don't love the XL BGE for when I want to cook some quick burgers, BBQ chicken, etc.

I've been on the fence of buying a Monument of Char-Broil Gas grill that I can use and connect to my NG stub out until my patio kitchen is done (likely another year or 2) for these quick cooks but the downside is the loss of flavor and I feel the pellet grill is just as quick of a process.

The one I have my eyes set on is the 700D. It looks sharp and I like the cabinet it has below. I think the only "con" is that it doesn't have the built in wifi which doesn't bother me since I would use the MEATER Block with Wi-Fi on both the BGE and this thing.

That's good to hear.

If you have the money, get something with wifi controller built in with at least 2 temp probes. Don't know if Z offers it, but it is what makes the pellet grill what it is.

I've had one for a few years. Love it. Never a hiccup, holds temp well and does what I need it to.

I mainly smoke or slow cook on it, but have grilled on it from time to time.

Pulled the trigger and ordered a 700D4E. Says it will arrive by the 23rd which is convenient since my dad will be here and can help me build it.
