Our kids are getting into 4H archery. A couple of people have mentioned getting Genesis Bows to start out because they are easy to adjust and can grow with the kids. There are also some non-4H competitions that you must have a Genesis in order to participate.

Anybody on here have any experience with this brand? I'm open to any and all advice….thanks!

Pretty sure it's a Mathew's product. They sponsor many of the archery in school programs and many of the competitions use them exclusively. It's a compound bow with no let off. So the draw length is however far back the kid pulls the bow. So different sized kids can use the same bow.

I e got a mission bow I'll sell you. My son killed deer with it from 7-16. It's very easy to adjust.

I have a genesis mini (right hand) with arrows and quiver that I'd sell.
My kids have outgrown it.

Do you happen to be attending the mclennan 4h club stuff? We just got back from our shoot and the leader suggested those, too.

Thank you for all of the offers. We are in Robertson County. Potentially interested in all of the available bows, depending on how far away everyone is. We are just starting an archery club in the county…we have applied for some grants to buy equipment, but buying some used bows might be helpful here at the beginning.

Our church had a Centershot Ministry program last summer with our kids and use Genesis bows. The kids seemed to adapt to them really fast. I would recommend for young kids to get started on.

Where are you located?

Any idea what ages the Mini is good for? The online descriptions don't give a lot of detail. Might be too small for my own kids, but we still might be interested in buying it for our 4H club.

Check out the NASP program. They give out a ton of scholarship money for tournaments all over the state. My son accumulated about $6K. I do believe each competitor must shoot with a Genesis bow.

The mini genesis is probably good for 10 and under.
