My boss has quite a few guns he's looking to sell. Right now I don't have pictures or a description better than what is listed below. I will get out to the safe later today and try to catalog better and get some pictures as well. He and his buddy were competition shooters. Most of the rifles are considered precision. And boss has a big ranch in New Mexico where you don't hunt from a blind. He shot an elk last year at 705 yds, and all 5 of the deer he shot last year were over 500 yds.

Is killing an animal from 500 yards or better really harder hunting than a blind? The shot takes skull snd practice no doubt but animal at a disadvantage from that distance.

Well... yes? I don't even hunt that way and I will agree that a 500yard plus shot from the field is much more technical than hunting in a blind. At that range, you have a lot of environmental effects that you have to worry about, bullet drop, etc. It's also harder to judge ranges on uneven terrain plus a horizontal rest on the window of a blind is probably 10 fold better than what is available out in the field. Plus, if you aren't hunting a blind, you're hoofing it to find the game... so.... yeah. I mean, I'll take shots at those ranges at pigs with some of my guns, but I'm either taking that shot from a deer blind or an effing picnic table and using a range finder to get distance.
