So, because, why not? I ordered the Rapid Access Holster Carrier, from Blackhawk, based on a conversation in a thread from earlier this year.

I got it in and took it for a 6 mile run yesterday. There are Pros and Cons to it, just like any other holster/method for carrying, but this one does check off several boxes. Note: It was designed by Blackhawk specifically to NOT look tacti-cool so that you can carry in non-2A friendly areas and pretty much just blend in.

It screams "dad with a fanny pack", but that is the point. No one looking for a gun would give this a second look. Access to your gun is through the bottom (closed with magnets) but you can also unzip the top, and not reveal the gun, if you need to access your keys/wallet etc.

Pros:

I carried a Glock 19 & extra magazine just to push the limits on this thing. (not my normal carry when I run, that would be a Glock 43). & there was definitely no way anyone could tell I was wearing a gun. Purposefully ran on a college campus & no one even looked at me. There is no possible way a non-2A person, even a cop, could tell I was carrying.

Very well built & I would take this hiking/running/cycling etc again in pretty much any weather conditions.

Kept the sweat off of my gun & that is one of the biggest issues for runners/hikers etc. A lot of companies say they're a good holster for running, very few are.

Very well padded for comfort & concealment.

Cons:

For running, it did bounce some, no matter how tight I made it, so I wore it on the side, both left and right side, to see if that helped. Wearing it on the side helped with bounce.
Did have to make adjustments along the way, but that is true of almost any piece of gear.

You actually access the gun through the bottom of the pack, which is counter intuitive at first, but I practiced with it some before I went out. I may do a training class with this thing later to work it harder.

As far as I know, it only comes in Blue. Its a new product for them so there aren't a variety of colors, but again, it definitely looks harmless.

It is big, but there is also room in there for a spare mag/keys/ID etc.

All of that said & for the OP of the original thread, I would use this on the AP, no question.

Deer pic because I see him a lot.

Nice fanny pack!

I have something similar that i've probably had over a decade that is similar, but black leather. Take it when we go for walks.

wearing it across your chest or adding a tie down to the bottom are probably the only ways to reduce bounce.
