What's ballpark pricing for hiring someone to build a barbed wire fence, labor and materials, all in?

My neighbor just paid $3.50-$4.00 a foot for USDA grant qualified fencing in Bastrop county.

I built my 6 strand myself because I'm anal about it and I havnt seen many fences down to my standard of quality.

That said, whatever they charge for it, it's worth it. Lol.

Haven't seen many folks do it themselves because they don't want the contractor to do it too good.

Did your neighbor pay, or did a USDA grant pay for it?

In Coryell county I was quoted $5.10 for a strait stretch of 6 strand barbed wire for 425'. I know the length will influence that price but I told them I'd pass. I've since bought a welder and a post driver and will do it myself. I'll have more to do down the road on my place so it will pay off in the long run. Materials are roughly $2.00- $2.25 per foot for that particular fence project.
