How long do you want to ignore this user?

We got to the beach nearly every weekend during the summer. My chairs rust on the bottom. Once that happens what could I do to fix them rather than throwing them away? JB Weld?

Rust through or cosmetic? This will probably buy you some time. Works pretty well.

I'll use that from now on, but several are rusted through.

Chairs have any sentimental value? Were they expensive to begin with?

If one or both of the above, you could find a short piece of rebar of similar diameter, insert, and where the chair broke, if you know someone with a welder they could weld the chair pieces together and to the rebar. Paint with the Restorer above, then top coat with a decent paint.

If not the above to the above two questions, they are done.
"Green" is the new RED.

Cut it clean 1/2 inch on each side at the break and use a pvc coupler from the sprinkler section.

Lots of ways to fix that. I'd just weld it but I have the welders to do that thin metal work.

A ID sized dowel epoxy glued inside would work, with a wrap of fiberglass and epoxy on the outside. Again, I have all that laying around from my boat building work.

Throw it out.

Dowel rod on the inside is good. Sleeveing the outside with a piece of EMT (metal conduit) should work too.

I agree, but $75 chair lasted only 2 summers. It's 2nd one

$75 chairs are the new $20 chairs.

Welcome to 2022.

This won't repair what you have. I would suggest buying chairs with aluminum legs in the future. It will be more expensive and less options, but they should last longer in a beach environment.
