I like the Blackstone, but I'm not a fan of cleaning it. A grill is just a few scrubs with a brush, then when you light it up again, a few more scrubs.zooguy96 said:
I'd get a Blackstone flat top grill, but that's just me. I use it way more than my other grills.

The Blackstone is pretty easy to clean. Scrape when it's warm - easy peasy.

Get on FB Marketplace and get a used Weber. Tons available. I rehabbed 3 of them for my college aged sons and BIL and and they all turned out great
Replacement parts are readily available for all models.
I agree with zooguy. Unless I cook fish, I just scrape it off and shut it down. As far as the seasoning flaking off it sounds like you didn't have it seasoned correctly to begin with or don't use it often enough.GeorgiAg said:zooguy96 said:GeorgiAg said:I like the Blackstone, but I'm not a fan of cleaning it. LOL, no way. That has not been my experience or any youtube video I've ever watched. You have to scrape it, squirt it down with water, scrape it again, reapply oil and wipe it down with a crap ton of paper towels, all while using gas. Then you have the bin of oil/junk in the back you have to deal with. I never use paper towels, water or oil to clean a grill.
Also, so you live where it is humid? My seasoning flaked off in spots and rusted. I had to fully scrape mine fully down and re-season it because of rust. I had to use a bunch of gas, oil and a roll of paper towels to do so and it was a PITA.

We have a BGE but use our Blackstone 4-5 times a week now and love it. My gas grill is currently used for storing grilling accessories and hasn't been used in a couple of years. Hell I'll give it to a good Ag in the Hill Country if they want it.
