We are trying to find a reliable French Bulldog Breeder or rescue for my mother in law. She has recently had some health issues and my BIL is being deployed over seas soon. She doesn't do well when he is deployed so she is needing something to take he mind off of those things even if for little while. She has always wanted one so we want to surprise her. The ones we have found all seem like scams when the dogs are too cheap and they won't provide records. Thanks for any help.

BTW my wife suggested I ask here because "those guys on Texag can find a tick on a turtle". Never heard her say that before.

She may want one but there are many issues to keep in mind. Cost, Heath Issues and shorter life span in general. Cost, be ready to drop big money if you buy from a reputable breeder. Health issues, start on average around year 2-3, very common is respiratory and hip issues. Lifespan, heath issues drives this heavily. They can be energetic little ****heads and bark a ton, so she will need to spend its energy daily.

Good luck on finding a pup. My recommendation would be a golden retriever for their docile nature and ease of handling for an older person, but im biased.

Suzette breeds French Bulldogs and Bullmastiffs. Located in Cedar Creek. We will be picking up a bullmastiff puppy soon, and she has been great to work with. Her dogs are beautiful and well cared for.

I'd guess the Frenchies are $$$$, and not sure if she has any current litters. She could at least point you in the right direction.

A therapist may be cheaper than a French bulldog.

I don't know anything about them but I think they are cool looking little dogs. When someone mentions a french bulldog, it makes me think of this one:

I can't say anything, we bought a Pug about 3 years ago, and he is a shedding machine, good for nothing other than flopping next to me so I can scratch his belly and his also my best bud! That from a guy who grew up around boxers!

If you want to go the rescue route these folks often have Frenchies and do a really good job of providing details about the dog's personality and any issues they may have before adoption. We adopted our dog from them and could not be happier.

Scotty88, I can't PM you but I think my wife might have stars. I am assuming you are a vet because I think doing a c-section on a French Bulldog in a regular office might cause problems with HR.

The puppy would not be a total surprise, she just thinks that my FIL doesn't want any dogs, but she doesn't know he agreed to this.

Scotty88, Thanks for the hook up. Not only did we pick one out for my MIL, but we picked one for us as well. I believe your office is giving them a check up and shots tomorrow, so I hope everything goes well. We will get to finally pick them up next weekend after the game.
