How long do you want to ignore this user?
Somebody posted a link to a great wildfire map website earlier this summer with hotspot, forest service, and more info all together. I'm trying to keep an eye on the Chalk Mountain fire, but haven't been able to find anything great on containment or lines.

Anybody have a great website?

I like the MyRadar app. Good for weather and wildfires. Chalk mountain just showing as hotspots right now, vs a labeled fire with containment info though

Using it for the Nelson Creek fire up in Huntsville.

Anyone here know any more detailed info than what they have been posting? Trying to figure out direction. Based on winds I'm guessing it should be moving north.

Fire is headed North East toward river. 1100 acres 20% contained with minimum structures affecting.

Thanks, good to hear on the 20%. Last update I had heard was still 0

Figured it was heading with the wind and wasn't doing something weird. Winds are supposed to stay the same so we should be OK. Less than 4 miles to the east so have to watch it but wasn't too worried yet.

Hoping all this holds true. A buddy's place is between the fire and you. Based off the map you posted earlier it looks like the eastern edge of the fire is about a half mile from their place at the farthest and licking their fence line at the closest.
