Is there a more effective chemical to use for Bahia control than MSMA? My plan is to attack it over the next few weeks and then fertilize to promote Bermuda growth. Appreciate any insight and experiences anyone can share.

Unless it's for appearance or your yard I'd let it grow. I've watched horses prefer good Bahia over Bermuda

Checked out a couple of the past threads, thanks. It is for appearance along with maintenance. I have just under 6 acres I am mowing and no horses or cows. If I can knock the Bahia back my mowing frequency would go down. I hate the look 2 to 3 days after mowing of the Bahia stem sticking up. I also hate mowing, takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to mow the entire place on a commercial 60" zero turn.

What's your issue with MSMA? We use MSM and it works really well.

I have a whole unopened bottle of MSMA if anyone wants to buy it. Big bottle, maybe 1 to 2 gallon size… I'll have to go check the size. I paid over $100 for it but can't remember exactly.

I used Celsius last summer and smoked it.

Cimarron Plus, Chaparral, Pastora.

No need to complicate this thread. 1/2 oz Escort/MSM/Cimmarron/ Patriot (i.e. 60% metsulfuron) per acre will take care of bahia. Add a 1/4-1/2% nonionic surfactant. Slow to see results but safe and extremely effective. EOT
