Hey guys, I need some Lab Breeder recommendations, or if anyone knows of a good litter out there. I saw a post here a year or so ago, but could not find it again through the Search engine.

I just buried our sweet 12 year old Lab yesterday, best all around pet and bird dog I have had. We want to get another puppy ASAP, any Breeder recommendations appreciated. I do bird hunt, so that important in a Breeder for me.

We LOVE Southtown Retreivers. We have a three year old female Tesla and get pick of the litter male out of her sisters litter due May 6. They will be all black, mom is Ember and is 41 lbs, dad is Peak and is 45 lbs so they should be on the smaller side.

Thsse are sporting labs and Shannon does prefer the dog to be involved in hunt test, dock diving, shed hunting, agility etc. you'll also need to go to Illinois to get the pup or we can bring back with ours.

Best Retrievers in Paige had a few yellows left from a batch born 4.6.2022 as of Wednesday. I'm not sure if they are all sold or not yet.

We had a really great experience with Mandy @ Hargrove Heaven (north of Dallas).

The waiting list was pretty long when when we got on it almost two years ago. Our pup just turned 1. So, that might not be right for you. But we passed on a few litters waiting for a red lab. It was so worth it. Mandy was great to work with through the whole process, and she works really hard with the puppies. Her training is great. But I've heard her prices (like everyone's) have gone up significantly since we got ours.

Our lab is awesome. She is filling out and is much thicker than these pics now- she is an English style. Really getting that thick blocky neck and body- but still muscular. Many people say she is a tank. She has a super nose, high motor, and is very very sharp. She is budding into a great shed hunting dog.

I have two dogs from Kim.

If you're looking for a smaller lab, Bearpoint/Black Forest kennels is a good option.

I have one. She is good people.

My wife and I are picking up a pup from her in a few weeks. I reached out after seeing all the positive comments on this board. She has been great to work with and we couldn't be more excited.

My best dog came from Millercreek Kennels in Sommerville, whelped in 2005. Their phone number is no longer working. Anyone know what came of their business?

Booo! Females from Kaizen and Matty are already sold. Will be monitoring for future ones though.

We also have one from Kim (same litter as Gunny's) and he is a great dog. Kim is great to deal with and she simply does it right.

I've got 2nd pick female.. it will be our first dog and we are really excited. I've been waiting for a batch of yellows for nearly a year from the Best's. This is their first one since very early 2021. They are supposed to have a different litter in June I think is what they told me. If you can wait that long.

As the owner of one black and one yellow lab, my condolences to you vacuum cleaner and broom…….especially with a yellow.

I own a 22 month old yellow lab, currently 53lbs and extremely lean; this is the smartest dog I have ever owned. His sire is owned by Mark Strickland who runs Marsh Kennels out of Giddings. I would contact him to see where he is breeding out his studs.

The breeder I went through was in Spring area but I do not have his contact information. The below dog is my dog's sire and is a champion dog so I am not surprised how smart he is. A well trained obedient dog is well worth the money in my opinion especially if he you are planning to work him at the ranch. Just playing fetch in the back with the kids is well worth it imo.

Yes sir. When you got him/her what color collar did you get? We got Mr. Blue. Weighs 90 lbs and oh my goodness does he have a lot of go! More than I got!

Blue was a awesome looking pup, we have the green collar male (MaCallan) and he is also 90 Lbs and also has tons of go with a great disposition. He keeps my daughter on her toes!

Oh my gosh this is so cool. We had talked with Kim and had told her the story of us losing our 7 year old lab due to tainted bad dog food. She said she had promised a couple first pick then we had second pick.
She sent us pictures of all and we fell in love with Mr. Green and Mr. Blue. She then told us that Mr. Green was who y'all picked so we said well God wants us to have Mr. Blue.
When we got to her place we saw Green and knew he was taken. She kept Mr. Green separate and let the rest of them out but ...and Blue promptly crawled up in my lap and said HI! I'm going home with y'all!
So cool we now know who got Mr. Green! He had a very kind face and a great looking pup.

This dog has been better than I could have asked for. She goes everywhere with me and is great with kids. She picks up on stuff very fast and is calm when needed.

That is awesome! He is my daughters dog and she got in on the litter early and had first pick of the black males, Mr. Green and Mr. Black were all over her and we also liked Mr. Blue but he was more interested in exploring so I think Kim was right he was waiting for y'all!
