Finally shot PCC in a match

I'm not planning on making it a habit, but the stamp on my MP5 clone came back and I hadn't had a chance to get to the range since it had come in...so I shot it at the local USPSA match this weekend.

It went as well as you'd expect, lots of fumbling and mistakes. I beat myself shooting pcc with my pistol (even shooting from a retention holster in open class scoring minor) because of that, but was finally starting to figure out the gun a bit by the end of the match.

Did I look silly trying to learn on the clock how to shoot this gun? Yes. Was it still a freaking blast? Also yes. I'm posting the only semi decent stage I had with both guns at the match, which was the last one of the day.

MP5 ran great, was a little worried it would have some break in hiccups but I didn't have a single failure, only problems were all my fault, not the guns. Pistol also ran well and is ready for my run and gun match at the end of the month, which is the real reason I got out to shoot only my 3rd uspsa match in the last 3 years (man it hurts to realize that I've been shooting so little).

Don't let fear of looking silly or being bad keep you from trying new things. I'm bad at new (and even old!) things all the time and have a blast anyway.

Not sure if you're open to "gucci gear", but this magwell works pretty well and will help with mag changes

https://hagadefense.com/mp5-mp5k-flared-magwell/

I'm lucky and can hit the paddle or push button without shifting my grip, but if your mags don't drop free, you can tweak the magwell out slightly or lap it to allow them to drop.

Usually a fan of gucci but also feel like the whole point of MP5s is to larp 90s action movies so might keep these guns old school.

I did go with a b&t stock instead of the F stock though…gotta love when new B&T parts are cheaper than used factory parts. HK stuff cracks me up.

Shooting my first USPSA match in almost a decade in a couple of weeks - will be running my PCC. I want to start shooting more, and that means going outside of the 3 gun bubble I've been in for the last 8 years.

I can totally relate to the forgot to reset or pull the trigger on the double tap. I wish I had an MP5....

Yep, trigger freeze was just one of the issues I had.

Inserting mags quickly, getting them seated (even had them downloaded to 28 and it was still an issue once) figuring out how lazy my sight picture could be, which diopter setting I wanted to use….

I had way more Cs and Ds with it than I did pistol. We are going to pretend its all just a learning curve…

It really is. Need to shoot the K in a match at some point too but figured a little extra distance between hand and muzzle was good for first time doing the pcc thing.

Time to pick up a B&T for the K. The Choate stock is doo doo. I like the "rare" 15rd mag.

One of these days I'm going to get a PWD operational briefcase and my 10 and 15rd MP5 mags will be good for something

Its on backorder, but I do have one ordered for it as well. Need to see how I like the B&T on the fullsize at the range. It looks neat but I have a feeling the A2 will stay on 90% of the time.

Agree on the choate. Mine wiggles. But its peak 90s so its got that going for it.

Will probably keep the full size more old school and copy the 9holereview guys take on a modernized MP5K.

ETA: I have a shoulder holster for the K too. Should be real useful for the 4 days a year you need a jacket in central Texas.
