What's a good display kit to use for putting some antlers on the wall?
Everything I see looks so 'cheap'

Are you wanting to euro, or just mount the skull cap?

If you just want the skull cap, I highly recommend a skull hooker bone bracket skull cap combo.

Most all of the kits with the felt do look cheap- and I've got a few hanging around. I have a velvet mule deer skull cap on the skull hooker, and it looks much better.

Can't help you on antlers alone, but I have one euro with just a simple picture hanger mounted on the back of the skull wired to a screw in the wall and another that mounted to a piece of walnut. Both about as simple as you can manage.

For euros, Log has the simplest, cheapest and best bracket that he fashions out of coat hanger wire. I saw it on a similar thread a while back.

If it is just the antlers you are wanting to display, would you consider a shed mounting bracket? Here is one form Etsy, that is simple and clean. It's different from the 1,000 others that all look the same. I'm sure you could even use this as a mount on somehting else if it isn't quite what you are looking for. Like, mount this to a small slab of live edge wood, then hang it on the wall. That would look sharp.

Or is something like this what you had in mind? This guy does custom-shaped states with a laser engraved center piece (that he can customize).


If that center piece makes it too busy for you, I could easily combine the two ideas, and carve a Texas shape out of wood then use the bone bracket to attach them.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

I'm really happy with how my Mule Deer turned out with the Skull Hooker Bone Bracket. So much so, that if I am every lucky enough to kill another bull elk, I will 100% do this to it as well. I once saw a 345" bull that just had the skull plate on a bone bracket. It was truly impressive, and didn't take up the whole living room with a shoulder mount.

Get a 3" corner bracket and bend slightly.

Run a carriage bolt through the hole on side that's bent down

Attach bracket to wall, put skull on carriage bolt

Been using this method for years with good results.

I got the skull hooker and was surprised the cap is plastic. While that didn't bother me too much, the thing is way too small to fit on my mule deer antlers..
