I hadn't noticed this concept before, solid idea. I know some of the Worx tools are thought well of. What are you're thoughts on Worx for an overall battery ecosystem to include all power tools?

I have some tools getting a bit up there in age and will probably be shopping some new stuff in a year or so, so open to jumping into new battery ecosystems.

Seems like a good concept. One downside I could see is making sure ya got 4 20V batteries at about the same charge level if ya wanna run an 80V tool.

Sadly I'm too invested in Dewalt 20V line to make a change, but I know with most of their stuff a lot of the larger 60V batteries can still run the 20V tools, so that helps.

Dewalt also has a lot of different sized 20V batteries, that can be used across the whole line in a pinch. Some of my larger tools do WAY better with the 5 amp batteries, but I can run em off the 1.5 amp batteries if I have to.

You would need awhole bunch of 20 v's! At least 8, and they aren't cheap.

Extension cords are a lot cheaper

I've had no issues running Milwaukee's 12ah battery on outdoor power tools. The chainsaw and string trimmer are great. I'd buy into their battery ecosystem over others. Their 5yr warranty is great too.

My well used 4yr old high torque impact died right before Christmas. Filled out warranty request on their website and got a prepaid shipping label. Sent it off and had it back in hand in 6 days repaired for free with no fuss. I've rarely had that kind of warranty service from companies.

Extension cords are a PITA.

I have a worx edger and I enjoy the quick use for small jobs around the house. I do need another battery though but overall no issues using it. I enjoy the way it is able to breakdown into a smaller form factor for storage that doesn't take up as much room as the gas edger I have in the shed.

I had a worx power washer that was a piece of junk and I threw it in the dumpster.

It would be really cool if they came up with a common battery. That way you wouldn't be married to a single line/brand after you've bought two or three tools.

I fully agree...

Not being heavily invested in a battery line right now though (I have an 18V bosch Drill and driver that I got for a steal years ago), I'm planning where to go when I do get some new tools. I've been waiting to add some stuff till I figure that out.

Dewalt is a pretty good standard landing spot, Milwaukee has some interesting options as well. Just saw the Worx stuff and found it interesting. Everything out right now is 20V or 40V. Not sure what they are going with on 80V. So running 2 batteries isn't a big deal to get 40V and it isn't unreasonable to have 4 batteries.

Was more curious if anyone was running any of the Worx cordless stuff already.
