Looking for a decent thermal scope, mainly to be used for hog hunting and varmints. Would rather not spend a fortune for a top of the line scope. Thinking mid range. Suggestions?

Have the new rattler 35 640 resolution. My first thermal but it is super clear and has great range. About 4k. Feel like it's a good "mid" option with plenty of runway

Pulsar Thermion. Do not personally own one but have a couple friends with them and they are AWESOME.

Define your price range and we can definitely help. Mid range is pretty relative. I am shooting a Trijicon Reap-IR. It is probably on the higher end. I have liked the few Pulsars I have looked through.

Berings Optics line of Hogsters are an excellent choice for an entry level thermal.

I have a Bering Optics R 35mm but the Bobro mount broke and i have to send it back in. It's an good/ adequate entry level thermal. Pisses me off bc the Bobro was supposed to be an "upgrade".

I'm going Pulsar Thermion 2 to level up. The difference in clarity stepping up to a 640 is incredible.

But the guys at Outdoor Legacy Gear (Late Night Vision Show) told me.on the phone candidly that 640 is unquestionably more clear, but that won't help you kill more hog, coyotes, etc.

I'm still probably going to upgrade. Because I have a sickness for this stuff.

But will help you not kill a cow when you think it's a pig. Haha

I have a Pulsar Thermion XQ50 and have really liked it so far. There are several good reviews on YouTube for the different scopes. It seemed like Pulsar was a good value.
