I have an awesome 10 mo. old English Lab retriever, with good drive. I had planned to get him into training (upland game) with the kennel I got him from, but had a bit of a falling out.

I'm really keen to get him in with a quality trainer and would appreciate any recommendations?

I'm currently in CO but reasonably open to making the drive if there are any strong recs.

Look for a local retriever club in your general area. The local clubs put on hunt test and will know the good trainers nearby.

Jim Gourley in Beverly, KS is as good as they come. Tell him Eddie Taylor sent you. He specializes in pointing breeds but can train anything. I heard he trained a German Shephard to point. I use to train all my dogs but he is way better than me.
