I have followed instructions from youtube whitebone guy of using a sponge with the green scrubber. That allowed me to pull the tusks out about an inch from where they were previously. But now they are stuck. They are boiled. They were in soapy water for 10 days. They are now dried out for many days. In each circumstance I have not been able to pull them out any further. I have used vise grips with the sponge as protection. Still can't get them out. I started to dremel the base, and then gave up as I didn't like what I was seeing with the damage.

The top tusks came out no problem.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking about putting some kind of lubricant into the tusk cavity on the jaw. Like mineral oil.

Not mineral oil if you want the bone to ever dry and not discolor. They pinch funny coming out, if the jawbones didn't get over cooked, you can be pretty aggressive in extraction and not risk jacking them up.

I'm getting desperate here. The smell is bad and it's the last step so I can finalize the mount. I'm thinking about wrapping them up in old bicycle inner tube and really trying to wrench them out. I don't know what else to do.

Another idea is trying to spray propellant on the tooth to rapidly cool it and maybe it will budge.

That might crack them.

Push them back in and squirt some dawn in the cavity?

Chance it could be suctioned in? Drill a relief hole in the bottom of the jaw?

This and tap on the jaw bone with a rubber mallet whilst pulling on said tusk

I was able to squirt some Dawn down the cavity, which allowed me to loosen them and reinsert back down, and get more dawn in there. But when I try pulling out after an overnight soak in dawn, no dice. Still stuck.

If I use a mallet, where on the jaw do I hit it? On the upper/tooth side while gripping the tusk?

Behind the tusk on both sides of the jaw bone itself. Are you just trying to lengthen the tusks for the look and leave the skull intact or get them out entirely? If you don't care about the jaw bone break it and take them out

I'm trying to get them out so I can remove the dead, rotting nerve inside each tusk. I'm also supposed to inject filler material into them so they don't dry out and crack.

Based must be slightly wider or shaped differently than the sockets at the top. You might have to do some amateur dentistry like a root canal and then color match the epoxy filler with a dye and some talc powder thickener when you fill the holes.

I've done a couple in the way back when and they curve backward into the jaw bone. Are you pulling straight up? Maybe pull up with a backward lean to the pliers?

It did finally work to use the mallet and the vise grips around the rough sponge. Getting those tusks out did crack part of the jaw because they were too large. And also the very ends of the tusks cracked. Maybe the very last half inch or so. Not perfect, but I'm happy they are out.
