Does anyone have experience? They seem to be the go to for hog traps.

I'm battling a problem with the hogs tearing up the land right close to my house.

I know that shooting them or hunting them is likely not a good shot of elimination compared to trying to trap the entire sounder.

They suggest setting up a deer feeder and getting the hogs to rely on it as a food source. Then build their gate around the feeder and let them acclimate before trapping. It is of course triggered from your cell phone.

Gamechanger traps is another that I would look at. We are in the process of designing and building a budget-friendly cell-activated gate for an Ag Mechanics Project, but it is still a few months out from being ready. The key is to trap at least 75% of the sounder to make a dent in controlling the population.

Their products are top notch. I worked with the owner years ago when he was just starting his business. They've evolved a lot over the years and the trapping operation is highly successful. If you have the money to spend, definitely recommend their trap system and approach.

For those that trap, how often (if any) do you move them? Heard they start to get wise to them and will start to avoid?

Several good players in that market. Jager pro was one of the early ones but there are more economical options now. A buddy of mine is running several traps from a guy in Montgomery. He has caught a lot of pigs in them and no issues. I believe you can buy an entire pen system or just the gate and release from them.

I've got mine coming next Monday.
I went and bought a feeder today and have it set to go off at 5:30pm each day. I set up a camera to record video.

I'll share any interesting footage.

Hoping between now and Monday I can get some video of the pigs coming to the feeder.

A few things that I've read are to not kill them in the trap if possible and to remove any manure if you are wanting to keep trapping in the same spot.

I built a figure c trap for $180 in materials. I've trapped whole sounders and single boars. I've left the carcasses in the trap and let scavengers clean them and I've also drug the carcasses out and away from the trap. The damn pigs keep coming to the trap. Corn and grape koolaid
