Shot my first deer today! 8 pt buck!

The processor near the lease is apparently not good at all.
Anyone have a recommendation for a meat processor and taxidermist near Montgomery/Conroe?

H & S meat market in Conroe does great work take all my deer to be processed there.

Second this! Just had them process an elk for me. So far, what I have tried is top notch. Summer sausage is great, snack sticks, sweet chipotle sausage, cheese link, brisket burger, and steaks. All good stuff, and great communication through out about different cuts, trim amount, etc.

Fleming's is another good Montgomery area one if you are west of the lake

My new go to after last season. They do a great job and turn everything around quick.

As for taxidermy work I recommend Blane Hearn at Hearns Taxidermy in Crosby.

I just dropped my first deer at Tallent's Grocery in Walker County (Riverside). Will report how they do.

I called them about processing my elk, but they wouldn't guarantee my grind meat wouldn't be mixed with others.

Thanks for the recommendations.
This morning, shot a hog who disappeared in the trees and a doe who collapsed after running 30 yards.
Took the doe to Flemmings for.processing and to get a hide made and the buck to Darst Creek for processing and shoulder mount.

Here's the pic of the buck.
