You can get a .300 sized can that'll handle all your .308/6.5 cm/.300 blk/.223 needs for the most part (unless you want more then one for different length/efficiency requirements). A different one for 9mm and a different one again for .22. That's the basics, you can get more specialized from there depending on what you need.

So what do you need/want one for?

Buy more than one. You'll wish you did.

I went with a Deadair sandman S due to their connection to the weapon and I love it. Wish I would've gotten a Nomad at the same time I got the sandman. Oh well, love and learn.

I'd add a Hybrid 46 to the list which I think covers just about every rifle between a .22LR and 50 BMG.

As an owner of the Hybrid 46 I agree. Though it wont do 22 or 50bmg it does cover a ton. 9mm to 45-70/338.

Its a great can. But keep in mind its not the best performing can. Jack of all trades, master of none.

They have recently come out with the Hybrid 46m which I would take a look at. Its not sealed so it can be shortened.

After as long as my Sandman is taking, I think I am going to want a Nomad also. Same boat. Should have gotten both.

Suppressors I would recommend.
CGS Hyperion - heavy and long but quietest on market
DeadAir Nomad TL- long but lighter. Comes direct thread but can change to any QD mount.
Deadair Nomad Ti- good length and weight. Not as quiet as the above, but pretty quiet. Comes direct thread but can change to any QD mount.
DeadAir Nomad 30- Steel version of the Nomad Ti. Just a little heavier.
DeadAir Sandman S- Good Qd system. Bombproof and full auto rated. Not as quiet. A little heavier.
Thunderbeast 7CB- good length and weight. Comes with QD
Thunderbeast 9CB- longer version of the 7CB. A little quieter. Similar to Nomad TL.
OSS- HXQD- great for ARs low back pressure and clean, not as quiet.

for 300BLK to 9mm the DeadAir Wolfmann is a bad ass option. But can't handle .308.

Lightest will be Thunderbeast 7CB or Nomad Ti
Quietest will be CGS Hyperion, followed by Nomad TL and Thunderbeast 9CB

Get a trust from guntrustguru.com

Purchase through a silencer shop kiosk vendor

As far as brand? That's like Ford/Chevy/Dodge at this point - there are lots of good options.

I decided to dive in with a solvent trap conversion. Faster turnaround due to the form 1 e-file, easy to convert once you get your stamp with a drill press and jig, and the brand I went with (JK Armament) is very modular and easy to disassemble and clean. Once I get the needed mounts/barrel, it'll work for my AR, hunting rifle, handgun, and .22. You can use lightweight, less expensive aluminum baffles on less demanding guns, and I have the titanium baffles for use on my 12.5" AR.

I'm not going for all out quietness, but more concerned with modularity and taking the sting out of an SBR and for use while hunting.

OP im in the same boat as you and here is what I think i've decided on. Also looking for any feedback from you pros.

Omega 36m - versatile with long and short configurations. good for 9mm to 338, Id assume this will make my 308 and 300blk with subs fairly quiet. With the current promo from silencerco im planning for the octane 45.

Octane 45 - good from 22 to 300blk sub/ 10mm/45

Rugged Oculus - dedicated for my 22. possibly used for a 17hmr or 5.7x28 in the future

My plan is to purchase those 3 together (obviously the free octane will take longer but hey free is free) and plans to purchase a Nomad L in the future.

I bought the Nomad 30, Wolfman and the .22. (Can't remember the name all at the same time. All had all three within 2 weeks of each other. Glad I did it that way.

I use area 419 mounts except on 9mm, .223 and 300 blk which I use Dead Air Key micro

All three cans are great. I want the TL next or an Otter Creek Labs which I hear is awesome. But there aren't many dealers for it.

Chunking 45-70 450gr through a hybrid is stupid fun. Henry makes a threaded version ready to go.

Where can I find details on the ins & outs of purchasing a silencer? Not for me, but as a surprise gift for husband. (Hoping he doesn't peruse TA anymore.). What do I need to know? What's the process? General cost I'd be looking at? How long does it take to get? Where can you get them? I'm coming at this as a complete newbie. He has an AR, so I'd most likely get it for that.

What do I need to know? What's the process? Silencer shop does everything. check the link below
General cost I'd be looking at? $1000-$1200
How long does it take to get? 6 months to a year.
Where can you get them? Silencer shop is the easiest

See my above recommendations for which ones I like. There are other great choices, but ones I've had experience with.

Has anyone shot both the Omega 36M and the Omega 300? I'm undecided on if it would be better to get a dedicated 300blk can plus the free Octane 9 for a dedicated 9 can. Is the Omega 300 performance noticeably better on 300blk than the one-size-fits-all 36m?
