I will be buying a Glock 17 or 19 MOS and looking for a reflex sight. Primary purpose will be home defense. What's the best option for a reflex sight on a Glock?

The best is a Trijicon RMR, 3moa dot.

And really, I think it was about the only option until the last few years when several others joined the fray. Trijicon is still the best.

Should have qualified the cost, don't want to spend more than $300.

Duty use, the RMR type 2 is the largely viewed as the most durable red dot for pistol. Can not go wrong with it.

Personally I prefer the closed emitter models and not having to remove the optic to change batteries. So I went Aimpoint ACRO P1 on a G45, and will be going to the ACRO P2 for the longer battery life.

Oh this being the case, Holosun 507c.

Holosun or the new hex dragonfly. Both have their strengths. I have the mos in stock... cut you a good deal on both it and the red dot

The Hex is interesting. I guess it's a relatively new offering from Springfield?

I'm in Austin, so I'll have to transfer via FFL, but what's your price on a Glock 19 MOS with Holoson 507C or Hex Dragonfly?

I really like this reticle. It's very intuitive.

Agree with these guys, this is now my favorite, especially the green version.

Is the battery replaced without having to remove the sight from the base? That's what it looks like in pictures but I couldn't tell for sure.

With the holosuns, yes.

Even having a RM06 on one gun - my most recent gun got a Holosun, as will my next.

There are enough high round count Holosuns out there now that I'm content buying them for carry guns.

Ok, so 507 is out of stock everywhere, can get the 407 though.

Either 407 or dragonfly will run you $800 shipped plus tax.

What's the difference between the 407 and 507? I read online where you might need a different adapter plate for the Glock because the 407 is for a smaller size slide.

That's for the 407k. It has the RMRcc footprint. The hs407c is the standard size. The difference between it and the 507c is that the 407 is dot only and the 507 is dot or reticle.

the different footprints and adapter plates in the RDS world can make you go crazy sometimes. Or maybe it's just because i'm an idiot.

I've got several Romeo's, Triji Rmr v1s and v2s, and a holosun 507 on various pistols.

On the Glocks, I really like the Rmr on the slides I've had cut.

But on my G40 MOS, I really like the Holosun 507 better. There's something about the couple mm of height on the MOS platform that my eyes "prefer" it over the Rmr (also can't go wrong with the 407).

Another vote for the holosun. 507 for home defense only. For duty go with the 508T or 509T.

Honestly, purely for duty I would only use a Trijicon RMR in the current market options for duty usage.

Conceal carry or home defense the Holosuns are perfectly fine and will save you $150.
dsvogel05

This is tempting for the price, but Holosun is still $200 cheaper.

I prefer 2 or 3 MOA dot on my pistols but some of the best shooters in the sporting world use a 6. Max Michel for example.

Buy what you shoot best with.
