Got a new box of .270 Weatherby for opening weekend. 130 gr Barnes ttsx was $85 for one box of 20 rounds.
Need to get a die set for this rifle.

Yes you do. For just a little more than what that box costs, you could bet a die set to roll your own.Wycliffe said:

Thank you! Still breaking it in, haven't finished the first box yet, but handloading is likely in my future.cledus6150 said:
I have some good .257 wby loads for ya when you get into hand loading. They aren't too hot just 115gr TSX's going about 3400fps!
You may regret not buying it. .35 Remington will never be cheaper.CS78 said:
Weatherby ammo has been expensive for decades.
I got all excited because academy had core lokt 35 Remington today. Grabbed a couple boxes then saw the $40 price tag. Put it back even though it's $60 everywhere else.

I had a .300 Weatherby for 4 years. I never bought factory ammo and always reloaded for it. IMO all the Weatherby cartridges are for reloaders only.

How does bumping back that radiused shoulder work? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I only shoot handloads in rifles but I've never messed with the weatherby stuff.

I never really have to bump mine back, I have a 300wby and a 257wby and my dad has a 340wby and sold a 30-378wby to a local OB'er. We haven't really had any issues but as mentioned wby cartridges really shine when you are a hand loader!
