I'm just getting into smoking meat and graduated up from WSM to an offset smoker - Old Country Brazos. Best info I can gather is that it ideally uses smaller wood splits.

Do y'all know a source for wood (oak preferred) in Houston (Cypress area) that offers pre-split wood in smaller sizes?

Check in front of your grocery store. They often have bbq wood out front (including oak) that are basically half-length firewood logs.
