Looking for a good weather station to give to the in laws for Christmas gift for their home and property they live on. Something that is not app driven - need a separate device that shows the readings. Ideally something with wind and rain. Budget would ideally be less than $100. Thanks in advance!

I have one of these and can recommend it.

Accurite

I have this non-OB approved Accurite and it works just fine. Wind, temp, pressure, rain, historical data....all on the display that sits on a window sill while the actual unit is out back on my fence. Zero issues so far, it's a little over a year old I think.

Has anyone tied their weather station to NOAA?

My issue with the Accurites in general is outside interface. I have an older version of that one at home and can hook it to my computer to get it out on an app... Problem is I dont really want the base station next to my computer...

The ambient weather WS2902 (and others) have wifi and can connect to internet based stuff directly so you can put the base station wherever you want.

I had 2 of these & the outside units both crapped out after a year or two. Currently have Ambient Weather posted above - not quite a year in so we shall see....

Mine is.

We have the ambient one listed above. Have had it about 3 years and working well. We had 2 acurite units prior and thought they were junk and customer service sucked. 2nd acurite was not able to be viewed via their app 2 months after purchase unless you purchased their upgraded "bridge" for a special price of $125. I now hate acurite.

I even came up with a ridiculous name for it on their network.

I have two Weatherflow Tempest and they have worked really well. Customer service has been outstanding. I dropped my older model and broke they solar panel and they sent me a new one for free.

Got the same one a couple of months ago. Only issue I've had so far was when we lost electricity and the control panel didn't reconnect to the wifi. It was weird because it was still sending data to weatherunderground but the Ambient app ways updating. Ended up having to go back through the steps to setup a new device and it works fine.
