Looking for a very small pocket carry pistol and rather not use a holster.Any recs?

I recommend not getting a pocket pistol. Slow draw and a lot higher chance of accidental discharge

Why on earth is no holster something you want?

I've carried a J frame and LCP in a pocket. Both using a holster.

Holster doesn't just provide the important benefit of protecting the trigger, it also breaks up the otherwise very obvious "gun" shape you'd otherwise be showing the world through your pocket.

Use a holster.

Ruger LCP or LCP max.

And you want at least a pocket holster. I also have an appendix holster that I prefer.

I carried a Kahr P380 in a Desantis Nemesis holster for years as a backup gun in back pocket. If you are a smaller fella like me, it is about the best you can do as even subcompacts are a no go pocket wise. I can't even pull off a snub nose wheel gun very well.

I have carried and still carry a S&W M&P 340 in a DeSantis pocket holster for years! It is a perfect fit and breaks up the pistols lines completely.

Yes, you need a holster. I use a Alabama holster company front pocket holster for my p365 and a generic neoprene pocket holster for my j frame.

Never carry anything without a holster.

There are plenty of good pocket holsters for the LCP. They don't add much bulk or weight. You can go old style back pocket wallet or front pocket.

Definitely agree with the other posters about using a holster. However, I will say I never got really comfortable with pocket carrying my P238. Maybe there are smaller options out there now, but with the extra thickness of the holster it felt like I was carrying a huge wallet where I normally carry my not-huge wallet. Coupled with the fact that I now had to carry my wallet somewhere else, it just felt "off".

Switched to IWB carry and it disappears, even with a tucked in shirt.

I carry in my pocket. With the clip I can pull it faster than from my holster. And it's easier for me.

Glock 42 with a clipdraw daily, gave up holsters years ago. Clip it on belt, waistband, inside boot shaft, jacket pocket, etc. If you really want true pocket carry use something like this to break up the outline

Smallest pistol you'll find is a keltec p32, but its very tiny, has no sights, etc. The trade off is you can pocket it or clip it anywhere.

I carry a little ruger LCP 380 in a nylon holster. Looks like a wallet in my pocket.

My everyday carry is a S&W M&P340 revolver with a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

You absolutely need a holster if you're pocket carrying.

I have carried this 340 so many miles it is in its second holster and probably needs a new one. Almost all of the edges have been worn to where they are rounded now. This gun is literally my top pick for a pocket carry, only modifications where an apex trigger kit, some polishing of internals and g10 grips.

+1 for a J frame pocket gun.

P365, LCP2, PF9 all do well in most any pair of shorts or jeans.

LCP w/ Desantis pocket holster is my go-to pocket carry.

My wife has a Sig P238 HD (bought it before the 9mm version came out) that I will pocket carry from time to time. It fits perfectly in the back pocket of my jeans and I can fold my handkerchief over it before sliding it in and you would never even know its there, it is about as thick as my wallet. Plus, with all the steel they use in the HD model giving it extra weight and the form factor of being a small scale 1911, its the only pocket pistol i've shot that is actually enjoyable to shoot.
