I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and posted some pictures to the nerdery photography thread from my trip, and someone suggested I should post them over here too. Here's some pictures I got of the wildlife from the beautiful region

Great job!

What to the areas that had extreme fires many years ago look like now? The last time I was there was in the mid-late 90s.

There were a few areas that obviously had been through fires because you could see the bare trees and see straight through the wooded areas for miles instead of the densely packed trees and vegetation like other parts of the park, but also could see that stuff was re-growing and slowly coming back

We were definitely lucky in seeing so much, but we also had made it a goal to see as many animals as possible. We got up early every day to try and get out to the wildlife hot spots and then checked others at sunset. We got lucky when we saw the wolves there was a wildlife group there that got a call about bear activity so we followed them to that haha

No, there was a ranch out off the road with a couple of them that you could stop and pet

Awesome pics, y'all obviously put the time and effort in to seeing all the wildlife. We went in July and could never find moose.

That Great Gray Owl is awesome. I've looked for it in Montana with no luck.

I've taken some decent wildlife shots Zimbabwe and the Galapagos Islands, but haven't taken any near this good in North America. These are very nice shots - what telephoto are you using? I've got a Sigma 50-500 that does pretty well in decent light, but it's not a very fast lens.

I rented a Tamron 150-600 for the trip. It was my first time renting a lens but would do it again since I don't do a lot of wildlife photography so I don't usually need a $1200 lens, but it was worth every penny for this trip

Thanks - you definitely got your money's worth with those shots. I don't think the Tamron is a particularly fast lens either, but your shots prove that in good light it can still take great photos.
