Gotta crappy pic of a leucistic Eurasian collared dove this morning
you must shoot some HUGE morning doves...Gilligan said:
Stuffed with jalapeno and wrapped in bacon it's hard to tell ring neck, white wing or morning dove apart!
True, size matters. They do cook up the same.EriktheRed said:you must shoot some HUGE morning doves...Gilligan said:

Not native. No bag limit. Assuming no illegal means of shooting/killing. When I was a kid, I used to trap all kinds of regular birds, squirrels, etc. with a box propped up with a stick and twine tied to it, run off into the house. Wylie Coyote/Road Runner type stuff. The trick is, the sides and preferably the top need to have a mesh (hardware cloth preferably). Used 2x4's to make a frame for weight and covered it with the mesh. Fairly decent size. Bait the ring neck doves in with corn or bird seed. Trap during the weekday evenings, bag the feathers/remains in the trash. Eat like a king with a cold beer on Saturday.STX Ag said:
They are thick as hell on my back patio. They know I can't shoot them so they just go ahead and **** on everything to rub it in.
This! I remember one particular unsuccessful dove hunt and me and the boys come home to a ridgeline covered in dove. not fair!Old Sarge said:Not native. No bag limit. A .17 pellet gun with enough power is a great weapon against suburb ring necks sitting on a wire or on a bird bath. You still need a hunting license to take them, though.Old Sarge said:Not native.
