Had a door to door guy come by this evening and offered quarterly service for 120/ quarter that is supposed to take care of bugs and rodents inside and outside the house. Seemed knowledgeable but i don't know much about pest control.

Is that a reasonable price for the service?

He said the application would take about 50 minutes for interior and exterior. Can he cover that space in that time? 2500 sq foot house and about 0.3 acres.

Any negative feedback on them as a company?

Some of the reviews i read about them said they lock you into a contract and are a pain to cancel. I'm reading through what they sent me now but thought I'd turn to texags because y'all know stuff...

I've had to shut the door on more than one blabbering Aptive sales kid. They've got good marketing and pushy sales people. Their products are no different than any others. If you need a service, search your NextDoor app & use who your neighbors recommend. That app is silly town if you use it like social media, but for legit recommendations, I can find companies that get good reviews from multiple people in multiple neighborhoods. I found my sprinkler guy, AC guy, plumber, and recently auto mechanic on recommendations from NextDoor. I am my own pool and pest control man for now, but I know where to go if I get in over my head and I'm not calling Aptive.

$1440/yr? Wow. Just buy a bottle of Bifen, an IGR and a decent pump sprayer for $150 all in, will last you a few years. Just follow the label. Only need to treat every 2-3 months, depending on weather.

We use them in League City and works well.

Shouldn't be $120/month though. That should be per quarter. However my wife being the great negotiator she is told them another pest control company came by and offered it for $89/quarter (lie) and he matched it.

And all seem to have gone to the same sales school same line every time. "Hey, I'm with _____ we are doing your neighbor _____ yard down the road. Since I'll be in the area I could do your house and yard for really cheap and then after that it would be _____ per quarter. We do something special that other companies don't do".

Tell them we already have a guy and go down and ask neighbor later that day and he confirms he's not using said company.

They are definitely the pushiest salesmen that have come to my door. Hated the way they were name dropping their other customers in my neighborhood. Guy would just not leave despite me assuring him I don't have a problem and spray my own pesticides.

We used them before we sold our house in TX, but I was a little disappointed because I would get a text and email a day or two before they said they were coming to service the house and that they would do the outside and to call if we had other issues, if I am paying for a regular service, I would rather they at least come inside and spray the baseboards too. It ended up being $120 a quarter for them to spend 10 or 15 minutes on the property spraying the foundation and sweeping cobwebs off of the eaves, any yard or fireant treatment was included, but had to be requested.

Guys would show up on little to no notice, and they managed to do a full year of "quarterly treatments" in less than 8 months.

Their "app" they try to sell you on won't even load on Android, and is useless on iPhone.

Can't get a hold of anyone, and took 2+ months to cancel.

Glad to get rid of them.
