I have the itch for a new clays gun and i've narrowed it down to a CG summit sporting, Beretta 694, or Blaser F16. Only one i've shot before is the Blaser, i've held and mounted the CG and Beretta in store. Shooting a Citori CXS now. Leaning towards the CG because i like the fit the best, but any experience or knowledge on these guns is appreciated.

The Blaser F-16 in my personal opinion, I've shot all on your list and just really prefer the Blaser. Of course when you get to this level of sporting guns, they will make them fit you. So the typical go out and shoulder them to see which one fits is pretty much thrown out the door!

The real question is, do you drive there in the Bentley, Buggatti or ride in the Rolls?

I have been shooting a CG Challenger Ascent with a Wenig stock for almost 3 years, Only problem I have had was related to a Briley ultra light tube that caused an ejector to break due to bad fit of the subguage tube.
I will say that CG has outstanding customer service and warranty, they deal with you on a personal level. They also tune up my gun at nationals each year for the last 2.
Don't think you'll get that with Blaser... or anyone else except Dupont Krieghoff...

Guerini is my pick, but I'd definitely try to find somewhere that you can actually test drive them and not just shoulder them.

Probably should look into a custom stock fitting.

This post confuses me. Not really sure how to make a typical OB recommendation so I'm just going to do the opposite.

The answer is an 870

Have you considered perazzi as well? I've shot all the brands you listed, and I like Beretta first, guerini second and blaser 3rd.

I would be very interested in a perazzi, if i could find a nice used one in my price range.

What's your budget?

You can buy some older MT6 style guns sub-5000 that are in good shape. They will have the coil spring triggers instead of the fancier perazzi drop-in triggers with the leaf spring. they're great shooting guns as well

Gunbroker is probably your best bet. Found this one, it's over your budget but comes with tubes

Before spending $ on a new gun, have you ever had anyone fit the shotgun you are shooting?
If you're looking to spend $$$$$$ on a high end gun - spend a little $ up front with someone who will see how the gun fits you.

Live in the greater Houston area?
Check out Larry Feland - He has custom fit shotguns for me and several of my friends. Amazing what adjusting the fit does to how well you can shoot... even with something like an old Browning Citori or Beretta Silver Pidgeon..... at least talk to him before you drop $$$$....

Buying a custom suit off the rack doesn't do any good without having a tailor fit it to you...

Unless something has changed, you'll get it for 10 years with Blaser.

Never spent a dime on service for my son's F3. Including one whole new receiver. But that's been a while ago. Kreighoff will do the "annuals".................for a few Benjamins.

Sorry - not familiar with the DFW area.

One of my friends came in from LaGrange, the other from College Station to get fitted by Larry. Folks travel from all over to have Feland fit their shotgun. He's pretty well know and respected in the shotgunning circles. Check him out - I think you will find it's worth the time and $ to talk to Larry.

Do you ever come to Houston? Set up an appointment and spend the day in town.
Most of the work he can do in a day if he knows you're coming.

I am a Zoli guy, but from your choices I like the CG, then the Blaser, then the Beretta, mostly because the cast on the Beretta makes them not fit me.

CG has a reputation for great customer service and while it seems like that should be expected when you spend close to 5k on a shotgun, but oddly that isn't the case.

One of the nice things about Blaser and Zoli is that their US HQ is in San Antonio, makes it nice for us Texans to drop by and have something looked at by the "manufacturer."

I assume given the guns you are looking at, that you know if you go to Nationals you can fire all these guns at the same targets on the same day to see which one is a better fit.

Also, welcome to the addiction. You think this will be the gun that you finish with, it won't be. Give it some time and you will be looking at F3s, Zsports, Hi-Techs, MX2000s, Kolars, DT11s, it never ends.

Talking to me? If so, I don't have a clue where in Dallas. But I do know (or at least knew...it's been a while) in San Antonio.

Beats me. Ask Blaser.

I am also a Zoli shooter, and have a 12ga 32" O/U Z-Sport, and a 28ga 30" O/U Zoli Pernice.

In the past I have had a 12ga Beretta Silver Pigeon, 12ga Cesar Guerini Summit Sporting, a 12Ga Browning 725 Sporting, and a Browning 12ga Maxus semi. The former guns were more than adequate, but the Zoli's are my favorite. They fit me perfectly, and as a mid-priced shotgun, are probably the best value for the money. Zoli's are one of the few gun manufacturers that make their own barrels, and have an excellent reputation for O/U barrel regulation.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong with a major manufacturer, get the gun that fits you best.

The best location to test a gun is at the National Sporting Clays Championship in San Antonio 10/23-10/31/21 at the National Shooting Complex off Roft Rd. Since approximately 2,000 shooters will be participating in the events there during that time, all the major shotgun vendors will be there. You can check out a gun and try it out on the shooting range, which is a great way to sample several types and brands of shotguns. They also have several other vendors such as gun fitters and gunsmiths that can help you. You don't have to be a registered shooter to attend, anyone can attend and there is no cost to visit the vendors. Check it out if you can.
