How long do you want to ignore this user?
Any good suggestions on a place to dove hunt this September near New Braunfels? Planning for 2 days, 4 to 6 guns.

Thank you!

I would be trying to connect with a farmer off of 46 between las brisas and seguin. The birds fly from the southeast back into town to roost in the oak trees pretty much like clockwork in the evening.

We also hunted a track down 1044 near Klein rd. There is a big water tower. The field was across the street. Very good early for mourning dove.

I would not suggest the area between Zorn and Geronimo. We had a lease there two years ago and the amount of birds were awful. The place looked great with grains field around it, a creek that ran through it and big oak trees. But it just didn't get enough birds to make it worth it.

Having hunted this area for nearly 15 years now, I can tell you the entire triangle between Seguin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos has taken a deep nosedive in dove hunting quality that has been pretty linear during that time. Each year we see less birds. And from what I have observed hunting pressure is actually lower in the last 5 years compared to 10 years ago.

The number of grain fields has decreased every year in favor of residential development. As the area becomes more and more suburban, I expect to see the trend continue. I don't know what it's like out towards Kingsbury, but would imagine maybe that area has been less affected by the development.

Good luck.
