I've used both the Traeger and Pit Boss. Wanting to replace my old Traeger with one of the 3 thoughts?

Following - I've zeroed in on the Rec Tec - just trying to convince myself that it will work as an everyday grill as well.

Really trying to convince myself that I don't need to replace my old Weber Kettle with a Rectec Bullseye

I have a Rectec and love it. I'm sure the others are fine as well. There is a good YouTube video comparing RT and Traeger. RT seemed to be built better to me.

Just got Rec Teq RT-700. I've only had a chance for a real quick cook on it (sausages and hotdog), but I will say all the materials are super solid. Each piece feels quality made.

Had my Rec-Tec 700 for over a year and not a single issue. Much better electronics than Pit Boss and better material quality than Traeger

So you Rec Tec guys feel comfortable with everyday cooks - like grilled chicken, fajitas, etc.?

I'm sold on the smoking capability.

FYI, Costco carries the Green Mountain Grill fancy 650 sqin model.

Husband got a Rec Tec bullseye and while we don't use it every single day it gets used a TON. Probably at least 4x a week for anything and everything. Smoked meatloaf the other night was amazing and even my kids liked it.

I have had the RT-340 for about a year and it's been great. Portable but big enough for a big brisket. It goes with us on RV trips and we use it as our primary oven when we travel. Have cooked steaks, pork chops, chicken - all fantastic. The sear kit is handy when you want to grill at higher temps. Got a chance to play with a buddy's RT-700 last weekend and I was over the top impressed. That RT-700 is next level. Everyone I know that has a Rec Tec loves them and their customer service is the best. Not sure that you can find a better value.

I've got the RT-700 as well. Love it. I've done everything from brisket to fajitas and it's done great. Two things I would recommend to get with it are the sear grates and the front shelf. As previously mentioned the customer service is top notch. A couple of bags of pellets I ordered with the grill were ripped and I called them up and they sent me some new pellets.

I love my Pit Boss. I just replaced my Classic with a Pro Series 1600 from Lowe's. Never had any issues with either of them putting enough smoke out. Also like the option of the searing station.

I have a 680 for smoking and long cooks. As for everyday, I purchased a Bullseye and it will get to 700 degrees on "riot" mode. Use the bullseye 3-4 times a week- burgers, chicken, salmon, steak. Still use my 680 for ribs, brisket, pulled pork. My 680 did not work well at higher temps ymmv

Good observation. I also have the 680.

The warranty is what sold me. Like anything else, if the company offers anything over a 5 year warranty, you know you're getting a good product. Excellent customer service.

I know you have the larger model, but have you tried smoking on the bullseye? Enough room for a 9-12lb brisket?

To be fair, they are smokers. I've cooked many things and most everything has been great but, I do not like grilling steaks on my 700. I use a gas grill for that

We smoked a 13lb brisket on the bullseye. It did great minus it was a prime and we had a grease fire. And that was our fault.

I have a RecTeq 590, and I use it 3 to 5 times/week. I can cook as low as about 180* and have the searing plates, which can get the cooking surface up to about 650*. I use it for almost everything and highly recommend. I don't know that it's any better than other major pellet brands, but I will say the computer is nails.
Bigfootisreal
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have not smoked anything except reverse seared steaks on the bullseye. I would think you could fit a pork butt or brisket on easily, just not sure on how the temp holds.

Not as well built as the Rex tec. Metal is not as thick so it burns through more pellets.

Anyone have a grilla? I like that they have double wall construction.
BCStalk

Not a Grilla but my Pit Boss has double wall construction. One of the main reasons I purchased it as well as the sear feature. I cook a lot in colder temperatures and figured it would help. So far it has.

I went with cam chef so I could get the side kick. I had narrowed it down between camp chef and recteq.

Wow sorry I missed this. Only one right answer and it's not listed....Yoder YS640s for the win. Hands down.

American made STEEL (not sheet metal like the ones above)
150-600+
2 piece diffuser for direct grilling
Better design
WiFi using FireBoard built in

I have a pitboss, my only complaint is the curved heat shield. Makes cleaning a pain.im actually going to be modifying it soon to be flat like the traegers so I can use the drip trays and just swap them out.

I believe several folks on here have a grilla smoker. I have a silverback and really like it. It is now WiFi enabled. If needing to ever move it off deck or into a trailer consider their all terrain chassis. If in Dallas, visit their showroom

Why is this the only right answer? That's an expensive pellet burner
