Does anyone have a recipe to make the "hot sticks"?

Back in middle school, we'd get cinnamon oil from the drug store across the street and soak regular toothpick in it.

I have some of this and tried to recreate hot tooth picks, but couldn't get the oil to dry into the wood. I think you have to heat them in an oven or something.EMY92 said:

Pretty sure all toothpicks are coated in wax these days.PearlJammin said:I have some of this and tried to recreate hot tooth picks, but couldn't get the oil to dry into the wood. I think you have to heat them in an oven or something.EMY92 said:

We have a snow cone machine and make cinnamon flavored snow cones with that oil. Make sure it's food grade and not the stuff used for potpourri.

..reminds me of the welder handing out toothpicks after sharing his meal and then passed the same tooth pick container around to pick up the used toothpicks...the look on the faces had to b priceless.
My only toothpick story...btw
Try having 7 uncles and a father that are pipeline welders and being their whipping boy once you were old enough to hold the tin bucket used for spent rods. I wouldn't change it for the world, though...barnyard1996 said:I still have nightmares from my summer as a welder helper in '93.Ubitag said:

Used to love those things like everyone else. Both bought them from Pharmore and made them back in the day. I wonder why no one does it anymore.
