Looking for sealed storage containers to store food, dishes, pots, pans, etc in a cabin that gets used a few times a year. Would not need to be waterproof but may be best solution would like something at least rodent proof. What do y'all use?

Standard plastic 60+ quart totes with lids is what I use in my farm buildings. Clear so I can see what is inside. No more cardboard box mouse nests.

Rubbermaid ActionPacker they have various sizes to choose from. Things are tough as nails, weather proof, rodent proof, temperature and moisture proof.

Get a 55 gal steel drum with a locking ring lid. Plastic totes will not be rodent proof if rats really decide they want to get inside.

I have a couple of these I keep in my garage...that gets really hot in the summer. Been in there a few years and no problems with the plastic degrading.

Actually this is a pretty good suggestion as I have access to these pretty cheaply. May need to figure out a way to divide it up rather than just throw things in it. Maybe a single cheap tote in the bottom and then stack on top??

Check out the Milwaukee packout boxes. They are a little expensive but they can be stacked and wheeled around. They are light and have a rubber gasket that should seal them well enough unless you are dunking them under water.

If it were me, I'd get a dish box from HD or a 5 gal bucket with a lid and a roll of bubble wrap to put dishes and then put that inside the drum. A box from a liquor store will work to box up you glasses and pots and pans can go on top.

I have never needed to do this. But, when we sold the farm, I found a drum in a dilapidated barn with my uncle's baseball uniforms from when he played minor league baseball in the late 50's to early 60's. They were in there for 50 plus years and rats or water never got to them.

Here's a fun game. If you don't already know guess how much that Yeti storage box is. I had to look it up to satisfy my curiosity and my guess that I thought was generous was still low.

Terrible idea. Why would you want to freeze all those items?

Thinking about this a little more I think I might drill the barrrel at a couple different levels and put in 4 - 2" bolts at each level and cut some plywood circles out of scrap I have for shelves and drill some finger holes so they are easy to take out. I will build a prototype and report back.
