I have been meaning to praise these people for a long time. I remember when the old man, wife and son opened up about 25 years ago where they helped me prepare for a big trip. Such great folks. I moved away for a few years and came back and they continued to prosper.

Sarah and Barry are the most down to earth folks and seem to hire people with a similar genuine, helping attitude. In such chaotic times, they somehow are able to pull off making folks, even newbies, feel like they are the only one's in the store. I know it isn't just me, because often while I'm waiting, I can see them help others with the same effort.

This is in heavy contrast with many other firearm/ammo shops - not that the others are that bad (I can image the crazies that try to walk in with loaded guns or unsafe handling), it is just that B&S and their entire staff consistently has a great attitude when they don't have to. They are eager to help!

Anyhow, thanks a lot Burdett & Son for being a staple in our community!

I've done business with them for 15 years. I typically am in their shop once a week and all I can say is that they are fantastic people. Almost gotten me in trouble with the wife several times, but I can let that slide since they give such good service.

Agree 100%. I am not a "regular" in the shop but, whenever I am there, I am welcomed & treated as a "regular". Good folks.

Bought my first pistol there in 1992 while at A&M. They are good folks.

I personally have always enjoyed their shop. The hospitality and selection of used firearms. Not every shop needs to be tacticool.

This is great to read. I grew up in Bryan and went to school with Barry. Havent seen him in years, but he was a good guy back then, so im not surprised to read this.

I bought my first rifle, a Browning A-Bolt Hunter in 30-06 caliber, from Burdett and Son back in 1985 when they were originally located in Hearne. Used my new student loan to make the purchase after paying for tuition and books.I still have that ol' A-Bolt and have taken several elk, muleys, pronghorns, whitetails, aoudads, a mountain goat, and a Shiras moose with it. One of best investments I've ever made thanks to Mr. Burdett's recommendation!
Oh, and my brother still regularly shops there! I guess I need to stop by there the next time I'm in Aggieland...

Good people. Have bought guns from them, had work done when a sight broke on my 30-30, and gotten ammo/accessories from them.

Knowledgeable, helpful, and easy going (no high pressure sales tactics or anything of the sort). Well worth a stop if you need anything gun/outdoor related and are in B/CS.
