Howdy OB

I just got a blackstone griddle (in large part due to OB recommendations). So I was hoping maybe yall could share some of your favorite recipes, tips, etc for the new blackstone guy.

Im pretty excited about working this thing in tandem with my smoker!

Not really a recipe but some fajitas with grilled onions works great on them. I typically grill the fajita meat to get a little bit of char and then cut it up and mix it in with sliced onions on the griddle.

Google flapjack egg sandwich. Just made some this morning for the family on the Blackstone.

I have made a few dishes on it. Standard egg, bacon/sausage, and potatoes breakfast, chicken fried rice (probably best dish I've made so far), chicken stir fry, brats and sausage, smash burgers (so good), and few other smaller things. Wife loves it because I don't mess up her kitchen.

What I've found in my infantile stage of griddle cooking is starting out with recipes that have shorter prep time with minimal ingredients until I got the hang of how the griddle cooked. I also got a thermo gun to identify temps on different settings and areas of the griddle (really helped save me from burning scrambled eggs). I also made a cheat sheet for thermo gun temp ranges for different types of meat/eggs/veggies that keeps me from screwing up.

Meals I have planned in the next few weeks:
Patty Melts
Philly cheesesteaks
Carnitas/fajita Street Tacos
Pancakes
French Toast

I love the thing and it's so easy to clean once you season it.

Sorry. Not any recipes but everything I've cooked has been awesome.

One tip is I used a hi temp oil (safflower/avacado oil). It works great on the griddle when it's super hot and it's got great flavor.

Yes! I didn't buy a wallpaper scraper and I had a trowel. I use a small scraper you can get for cleaning your griddle or a paint scraper.
There is plenty of ways to do it but this really gives a good idea of what you want to do.
Good Day.

I just grilled 2dz shrimp, 2 chicken breast and stalk of broccoli...pretty much all came off at the same time and cooked perfectly. Commercial chicken rub and avo oil for the chicken. Tony T's on the shrimp and some smoky garlic s/p and evoo for the broc florets. Add a few pats of unsalted butter along the way.

Just cook any thing you would regularly use a gas grill for.

First cook: just made the wife & i a couple of smashburgers for lunch.

Daaaaaang those things are good.

It was kinda anti-climactic: i cooked her lunch in like 4 1/2 minutes.

I do a Benihana style meal on my Blackstone better than Benihana does it. Chicken fried rice with filet with lobster and shrimp. It does so many things things so well.

Smash burgers, fajitas, hibachi, fried rice, breakfast hash, street tacos, pancakes... it's all good.

I'm going to try paella this weekend now!!!

One of my favorite (and surprising) things are biscuits. We started with pop-can biscuits, but have since switched to homemade drop biscuits. They are awesome.

Butter your griddle, and drop a biscuit on. Lightly brown one side, then flip and lightly brown other side. Don't fully cook them, just getting a little crisp. Remove biscuits. Put a wire rack (like cookie cooling rack) on the griddle, and put browned biscuits on rack. Completely cover with foil pan. Make sure you have a pan that will go all the way around your rack, and sit upside down on the griddle. Cook biscuits till done. They are awesome! Soft and pillowy inside, and crunchy on the outside.
