Interested in something like a Hay Liner, or the Neckover Hay Swift. I need something like this, but the gooseneck hitch tilts on the ball when you dump the bales. Seems like it would be hard on the tow vehicle. Anyone using one of these?

Used to have a six bale Hayvan with independent cradles for round bales. It worked well. Not familiar with the ones that pivot on the gooseneck ball.

PSA... don't flick cigarettes butts when pulling hay trailer

Saw a dude once pulling a flaming hay trailer... the faster he drove to get away... the bigger the burn

I have the larger pride of the prairie trailer with twin 40 ft cradles. It has tandem axles and dual wheels. 10k axles. It will haul 20 4ft bales. The g neck trailer does rock the truck when it dumps a little but have had it since 2008 and no problem to the hitch or trucks so far.
Neighbor has a 7 bale inline bumper pull I've used a few times but not sure of the brand.

Had a five bale gooseneck for a couple of years. Sold it for one of the reasons you described. I have a 25ft. flat bed gooseneck that I can now haul 10 bales. I can also use the trailer for equipment hauling also. I waste money on the hay trailer.

Mas89,

Do you find it works well for getting hay out of the field? We produce over 1,000 rolls per year and transport is a royal PITA. Not that we have far to go, just slow to load/unload.

Yes. We used flat bed trailers for years before getting the dump trailer. Not needing a loader to unload is awesome. Going from field to barn, can move several hundred in a morning before baling again at noon. For delivering hay sold locally, no waiting on someone to unload or to be there.

Only thing better is the self loading ones that will stack the hay in rows. Those pride of the prairie double dump trailers are the easiest way to haul out of a field if you have a tractor to load. I've only borrowed one and wish I had one of my own, but we don't put up much hay anymore.
